Edo State Licenses 100MW Power Project for Completion

The Edo State Government has issued transmission and distribution licences to CCETC Ogua Energy Limited for a 100-megawatt power project located in Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area. State Commissioner for Power, Paul Usenbo, announced that the project is expected to be completed by December 2026.

CCETC Ogua Energy Limited received the certificate of licence for electricity transmission after successfully meeting the key prerequisites and timelines for the project's first phase, which was completed in July 2026. Usenbo indicated that relevant government authorities are providing technical guidance and regulatory support to ensure compliance with standards and assessments.

The focus has now shifted to the second and final phase, which is anticipated to lead to the project's inauguration. Usenbo mentioned that major milestones are expected to be achieved by October 2026, with the possibility of extending the timeline to the first quarter of 2027 if significant challenges arise.

He expressed optimism about the project's progress, citing ongoing work and the arrival of power-generation equipment.
