Edo Residents Urge Quick Completion of Sapele Road

Residents of Edo State have called for the expedited completion of the Benin-Warri-Sapele road, which has suffered deterioration for over a decade. The reconstruction gained momentum after Governor Monday Okpebholo's swearing-in, with the Federal Government approving significant portions of the work.

Motorists and commuters have experienced some relief, but residents emphasize the need for faster progress to fully alleviate transportation difficulties. John Osa, a driver with over 15 years of experience on the road, expressed excitement about the reconstruction but urged the government to increase efforts for timely completion.

Motorcycle rider Aliyu Dahiru praised the state government's intervention, which has reduced repair costs for vehicles. Business owner Joy noted that the road's condition has impacted local commerce, with many shops closing due to the decay.

Francis, another resident, expressed hope that the recent inspection by Minister of Works David Umahi would ensure swift completion. The NDDC announced plans to take over 15.4 kilometers of the road to facilitate seamless work.
