Matawalle Promises Results in Fight Against Banditry

Bello Matawalle, the Governor of Zamfara State, stated that ongoing efforts to combat banditry in North-West Nigeria will soon yield positive results. He made this declaration during an All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders meeting held at the government house in Gusau.

Matawalle assured residents that the federal government is deploying necessary mechanisms to fight banditry affecting the region and is committed to ensuring peace and normalcy returns to the state. He urged APC members and stakeholders in Zamfara State to remain united and cohesive, emphasizing that achieving political development goals is meaningless without unity among party members.

The meeting also served as a platform to address disunity within the party and to intensify reconciliation efforts ahead of the 2027 general elections. Notably, Matawalle pledged his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Zamfara Governor Dauda Lawal's bid for a second term in 2027.
