INEC Chairman Amupitan Calls for Integrity During Eid

On Eid-el-Kabir, Prof. Joash Amupitan, the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), called on staff members to demonstrate sacrifice and integrity.

He congratulated Muslim staff and highlighted the festival's significance as a time for selfless devotion. Amupitan stressed the need for a deeper commitment to the electoral process, especially as Nigeria approaches critical elections, including the 2027 general elections.

He noted that the demands of managing Nigeria's democracy require staff to prioritize their responsibilities over personal comfort. The INEC Chairman reaffirmed the importance of compliance with constitutional provisions and electoral laws, urging staff to maintain high standards of professionalism.

He also acknowledged the challenges faced by staff but expressed confidence in their dedication to serving the Nigerian people. Amupitan emphasized the need for a robust welfare package for INEC workers and encouraged them to renew their commitment to national service during this festive period.
