INEC Chairman Pledges to Enhance Staff Healthcare Services

During the 2026 International Nurses Week celebration at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) headquarters in Abuja, Chairman Prof. Joash Amupitan pledged to strengthen healthcare services and improve staff welfare.

He unveiled plans to renovate existing clinic facilities and acquire a larger healthcare center for employees. This decision follows reports highlighting the poor conditions of INEC's clinic facilities, prompting immediate renovations at the Kubwa clinic.

Prof. Amupitan emphasized the importance of healthcare welfare for staff, noting the inherent risks associated with their work.

He described nurses as the bedrock of healthcare delivery and acknowledged their dedication to caring for various segments of society. Despite existing constraints, he assured that INEC would prioritize staff welfare and urged nurses and medical personnel to continue monitoring health management.

Prof. Rhoda Gumu, Chairman of the National Commission's Health Welfare Committee, commended the valuable contributions of nurses to healthcare delivery and disease prevention in communities.
