E.J. Anosike Shines in Chinese Basketball League

Ejimofor E.J. Anosike, a Nigerian-American forward, has made significant strides in the Chinese National Basketball League (NBL), earning top honors during the 2026 NBL Star Weekend held in Zunyi, Guizhou Province.

Anosike, who plays for the Hong Kong Bulls, emerged as the leading foreign player in the voting for the showcase event. His achievements include winning the 2026 NBL Slam Dunk Contest and being recognized as the league's Most Valuable Player (MVP) for 2024 and 2025.

Anosike's journey began in Staten Island, New York, and he has maintained strong ties to his Nigerian roots, particularly in Okija, Anambra State. He excelled in collegiate basketball at California State University, Fullerton, where he was named a first-team selection in the Big West Conference and earned the tournament MVP honor in 2022.

His international career has included accolades in Canada and Belgium, reinforcing his status as a high-impact scorer and a prominent ambassador for Nigerian sports.
