PDP's Oluyede Reviews Ekiti Governorship Election Outcome

Dr. Wole Oluyede, the People's Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the Ekiti State governorship, has commenced a legal and political review of the June 20 election results. In this election, Biodun Oyebanji of the All Progressives Congress (APC) was declared the winner by Professor Adenik Oladiji, the Chief Returning Officer from the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), with a total of 319,224 votes, while Oluyede received 40,543 votes, placing him a distant second.

Oluyede has raised concerns regarding the election's fairness, citing issues such as voter inducement and intimidation. He plans to consult with party leaders and his legal team to determine the next course of action, emphasizing the importance of upholding democratic principles and the rule of law.

Oluyede expressed gratitude for the support he received during his campaign and reaffirmed his commitment to defending democracy and ensuring that the interests of Ekiti State residents are represented.
