Oluyede Rejects Ekiti Guber Election Results Over Irregularities

Dr. Wole Oluyede, the candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the Ekiti State governorship election, publicly rejected the results announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). He alleged that the electoral process was fraught with irregularities, stating that the results did not reflect the true will of the electorate in Ekiti State.

In a statement issued on Monday, Chief Sanya Atofarati, the director of media and communication for Oluyede's campaign organization, characterized the election as marked by voter intimidation and harassment of opposition supporters. Oluyede claimed that the actions of security operatives during the election undermined the credibility of the polls and contributed to an atmosphere of fear and intimidation.

He asserted that the circumstances surrounding the election suggested a predetermined outcome, denying Ekiti voters the opportunity to freely choose their leader. Despite these claims, Oluyede urged his supporters to remain calm and peaceful, assuring them that they would pursue justice through legal means to uphold democracy.
