Oyebanji Receives Certificate of Return as Ekiti Governor

On Tuesday, Biodun Oyebanji received his certificate of return from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) following his victory in the June 20 governorship election in Ekiti State. Oyebanji, representing the All Progressives Congress (APC), secured a total of 319,224 votes, which accounted for 84% of the total votes cast, making him the first governor in Ekiti State's history to secure two consecutive electoral mandates.

The presentation ceremony took place at the INEC state office in Ado Ekiti and was attended by his running mate, Chief Monisad Afuye, and his wife, Dr. Olayemi Oyebanji.

In his remarks, Oyebanji expressed gratitude to the people of Ekiti State for their renewed mandate and emphasized the importance of collaboration to advance the state's development. He also commended INEC and security agencies for their professionalism in ensuring a peaceful electoral process.

The event was described as a model of democratic practice by INEC's Sam Olumekun.
