INEC Warns Against Hate Campaign Ahead of Ekiti Governorship Election

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has cautioned political parties in Ekiti State against engaging in hate campaigns as the ban on public campaigning is lifted for the upcoming governorship election on June 20, 2026. Dr.

Bunmi Omoseyindemi, the Resident Electoral Commissioner in the state, emphasized the need for decorum and peaceful campaigning during a stakeholders' meeting in Ado Ekiti. INEC has published the final list of governorship candidates, with 12 political parties cleared to participate, including the People's Democratic Party and the Social Democratic Party.
