Tributes Paid to Late Engineer Samuel Effiong Akpanamasi

Mr. Moses Ekpo, the former deputy governor of Akwa Ibom State, and Dr. Stanley Ojuolape, the immediate past President of the Chartered Institute of Administration, attended the farewell of Engr. Samuel Effiong Akpanamasi, a former member of the Nigeria Society of Engineers, who died at age 81. Ekpo described Akpanamasi as a significant figure in his community, emphasizing his contributions through engineering and his role as a family and community pillar.

Ojuolape encouraged the younger generation to follow Akpanamasi's exemplary life to improve society. The deceased's son, Mr. Utibe Effiong Akpanamasi, remembered him as a hardworking individual who positively impacted many lives.

Rev Fr Imo Martin Obot from St Joseph Catholic Church highlighted Akpanamasi's qualities, including honesty and commitment to duty. A biography noted that Akpanamasi had a successful engineering career across various Nigerian cities, working for companies such as Calcemco-Calabar and numerous oil firms in the Niger Delta.
