Oladotun Samson Oladipo Laid to Rest in Lagos

Oladotun Samson Oladipo, the publisher of The Eagle Online, was laid to rest on Friday in Lagos following his sudden death on August 25 at the age of 56. He had previously served as the Political Editor of Punch Newspaper and founded The Eagle Online.

His interment was attended by family, friends, and colleagues from Nigeria’s media industry. The service took place at Stella Hall, Oregun, Ikeja, where Pastor Solomon Akpande delivered a sermon themed “Make your life count,” urging attendees to live purposefully.

He reassured Oladipo’s family of divine support, emphasizing the importance of good conduct. Oladipo was recognized for his humility and diligence, having served as president of the Guild of Corporate Online Publishers from 2017 to 2021 and as a member of the Nigerian Guild of Editors.

His passing elicited condolences from notable figures, including President Bola Tinubu, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
