ZLP Candidate Adesuyi Urges Peace Ahead of Osun Elections

Olufemi Adesuyi, the Zenith Labour Party candidate for the Osun State governorship election, expressed serious concerns regarding the rise in political violence and extrajudicial killings in the state. In a statement made available to journalists in Osogbo on Wednesday, he condemned the killings, asserting that they are not a reflection of political ambition and should not be tolerated.

Adesuyi emphasized that the upcoming elections, scheduled for August 15, should not be treated as a war, urging politicians to campaign with decorum and respect for their opponents. He called on the Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies to proactively prevent further breakdowns of law and order and to arrest and prosecute those responsible for political violence, regardless of their political affiliations.

Adesuyi also encouraged eligible voters to participate en masse in the elections, seeking their support to elect him as the next governor of Osun State.
