Governor Umar Namadi Mourns Emir of Gumel's Death

Governor Umar Namadi expressed profound sadness over the death of Alhaji Dr Ahmed Muhammad Sani II, the 16th Emir of Gumel, who died on Thursday in Cairo, Egypt, after a brief illness at the age of 82. The announcement was made by Bala Ibrahim, Secretary to the Jigawa State Government, who described the Emir's passing as a monumental loss to the Gumel Emirate, Jigawa State, and the nation.

The late Emir, who dedicated 45 years to serving his people, was recognized for his contributions to peace, education, and development within the Emirate. He ascended the throne on December 16, 1980, and received his staff of office in May 1981.

His educational background includes a Diploma and Higher Diploma in Public Administration and a degree in Political Science and International Relations from Ohio University. The Jigawa State Government extended condolences to his family and the Gumel Emirate Council, with burial arrangements to be announced later.
