Enekwechi, Onwuzurike Shine at Hungarian Grand Prix

At the Gyulai István Memorial Hungarian Athletics Grand Prix held in Budapest, Chukwuebuka Enekwechi achieved a third-place finish in the men's shot put with a best effort of 21.48 meters. The event was won by Italy's Leonardo Fabbri, who threw 22.04 meters, while Jamaica's Rajindra Campbell secured second place with a throw of 21.52 meters.

In the men's 200m, Udodi Onwuzurike also finished third, clocking a time of 20.18 seconds, marking his season's best. Zimbabwe's Makanakaish Charamba won the race with a time of 20.09 seconds, and Morocco's Yassin Hssine set a national record with a victory time of 19.92 seconds.

These performances are seen as a confidence boost for Team Nigeria as they prepare for the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. Additionally, Emmanuel Esem from Cameroon won the men's 100m with a time of 9.99 seconds, while Ghana's Abdul Rashe Saminu and Jamaica's Ackeem Blake followed in second and third places, respectively.
