Kyle Walker Retires from International Football

Kyle Walker, a 35-year-old full-back currently with Burnley, has retired from international football effective immediately. He earned 96 caps for the England national team and participated in five major tournaments, including the 2018 and 2022 FIFA World Cups and the European Championships in 2016, 2021, and 2024.

Walker made his international debut against Spain in November 2011 and established himself as a regular in the England squad. He played his last match for England in a friendly against Senegal at Citi Ground in June 2025.

Walker expressed pride in his achievements and hopes to leave a positive legacy for English football. He was a key player under coach Gareth Southgate and served as vice-captain, although he was not included in the recent squad selected by current manager Thomas Tuchel.

Walker scored his only international goal against Ukraine in September 2023.
