Governor Eno Inspects Ibom Air’s New Airbus A220-300

Akwa Ibom State Governor Pastor Umo Eno conducted a pre-delivery inspection of Ibom Air’s third Airbus A220-300 aircraft at the Airbus production facility in Mirabel, Quebec, Canada. This acquisition is part of the state government’s ongoing investment in Ibom Air, aimed at strengthening the airline's fleet and operational capacity.

The aircraft is expected to begin operations ahead of the 2026 Christmas and end-of-year travel season. Aniekan Umana, the state Commissioner for Information, stated that the new aircraft will enhance capacity, improve scheduling flexibility, and provide passengers with more reliable travel options.

Governor Eno emphasized that this investment will not only expand the fleet but also improve operational efficiency and passenger comfort, while promoting tourism and economic development in Akwa Ibom. Ibom Air, wholly owned by the Akwa Ibom State Government, has been operational since 2019 and expanded into international markets in June 2026.
