Enugu Assembly Adopts Auditor-General's Financial Report

On Tuesday, the Enugu State House of Assembly adopted the report from its Committee on Public Accounts and Anti-Corruption regarding the annual report of the Auditor-General for the financial period ending December 31, 2020, to 2024. The session was presided over by the Speaker, Mr. Uche Ugwu.

The committee, chaired by Hon. Chukwuma Ekwueme, reviewed the report as part of its oversight duties concerning public resource management. It confirmed that the Office of the Auditor-General adhered to due process in its responsibilities.

The committee urged all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) in Enugu State to submit their financial accounts promptly to the Auditor-General, stressing that timely submissions are crucial for effective auditing, legislative oversight, and accountability in public fund management. The House overwhelmingly adopted the committee's report, which was attended by House of Representatives members from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, who were on an academic excursion.
