Plateau Assembly Receives 2025 Audited Financial Reports

The Plateau State House of Assembly has received the audited financial statements for the state government and the 17 local government councils for the 2025 fiscal year. This presentation occurred during plenary on Monday and was laid before the House by Speaker Naanlong Gapyil.

He praised Governor Caleb Mutfwang for his unwavering commitment to good governance, transparency, and accountability. The documents were submitted by the Office of the Auditor-General for the State and the Auditor-General for Local Governments, in compliance with constitutional provisions on public finance accountability.

Gapyil referenced Sections 125(2) and 125(5) of the 1999 Constitution, which mandate the submission of audited accounts. The House resolved to commit these financial statements to the House Committee on Public Accounts and Petitions for thorough examination.

The committee is tasked with ensuring compliance with financial regulations and identifying any financial irregularities. Gapyil noted that the prompt submission reflects the Governor's integrity and respect for the rule of law.
