Manchester United Sells Historic Old Trafford Turf Sections

Manchester United has announced the sale of pieces of the historic Old Trafford pitch, with each 7x7cm section priced at £125. The first batch, preserved in glass cubes and presented in a black case, has already sold out.

This initiative comes as the club reported an overall debt exceeding £1bn, despite achieving record revenue of £677.6m and an operating profit of £22.6m for the 2025-26 financial year. However, the club also reported a pre-tax loss of £43m.

Additionally, Manchester United confirmed that £63.5m was spent on acquiring land for a new stadium, with the total project expected to exceed £2bn. The Old Trafford pitch was dug up for the first time in 14 years during the summer, and sections were preserved as memorabilia for supporters.

The club describes the glass cubes as a “priceless memento” of iconic games and a way to keep matchday memories alive.
