Manchester United Reports £677.6m Revenue with Loss

Manchester United recorded a net loss of £43 million ($57 million) for the financial year ended June 30, despite achieving record revenue of £677.6 million, a 1.7 percent increase. This rise was primarily driven by a nearly 20 percent increase in broadcasting income after finishing third in the Premier League during the 2025/26 season.

However, both commercial and matchday revenues fell by almost five percent due to the club's absence from European competitions. This marks the seventh consecutive annual loss after tax for the club, which included £8.2 million in exceptional costs related to the departure of manager Ruben Amorim in January after 14 months.

Michael Carrick, his successor, led the team to a third-place finish, securing Champions League qualification for the 2026/27 season. The club also invested £63.5 million in land adjacent to Old Trafford for a new 100,000-capacity stadium.

Co-owner Jim Ratcliffe implemented cost-cutting measures since acquiring a stake in February 2024. Chief Executive Omar Berrada stated that the figures reflect the club's restructuring efforts and the enduring popularity of Manchester United.
