Fubara Addresses Fake Workers in Rivers State Politics

Siminalayi Fubara, the Governor of Rivers State, addressed the issue of fake workers during the inauguration of the Omademe road in Ikwerre Local Government Area. He cautioned against associating his actions with politics or his predecessor, Nyesom Wike, whom he referred to as his ‘oga.’ Fubara revealed that his administration had identified fake workers using six-month bank statements as proof of employment.

He stated that upon taking office, he discovered a bloated salary payroll and reconstituted a commission to investigate the issue, particularly in Emohua Local Government Area, where the Chairman was reluctant to pay salaries. Fubara emphasized the importance of proper employment channels and confirmed that genuine workers would be verified through bank statements.

He insisted that employment should be conducted correctly and objectively, distancing the process from political influences.
