Nkechi Nwaogu Resigns from APC Over Alleged Injustices

Nkechi Nwaogu, a former senator representing the Abia Central Senatorial District, has officially resigned from the All Progressives Congress (APC). In a telephone interview, she attributed her decision to alleged injustices within the party, particularly following the outcome of the APC primary elections where Emeka Atuma emerged as the winner.

Nwaogu expressed concerns about the electoral process, stating there was no proper election conducted in her zone and that party members deviated from the truth, working against the party's interests. She indicated that she had lost touch with the party and had previously discussed her situation with APC leaders who attempted to persuade her to remain.

As of now, the APC in Abia State has not received formal notification of her resignation, and the state party secretary, Uch Aguoru, confirmed that they were unaware of her departure. This development comes amid ongoing debates regarding the legal implications of recent defections, especially with the closure of political party membership registration ahead of the 2027 elections.
