Dakuku Peterside to Address Ports' Economic Impact in Lagos

Dr Dakuku Peterside, the former Director-General/CEO of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), will deliver a lecture titled “Politics, Ports and the Public Interest: The Media’s Catalytic Role in Driving Economic Growth” on September 30 in Lagos. This lecture is part of the 2026 Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Lagos State Council Annual Lecture, where Peterside will explore the relationship between ports, politics, and economic growth, emphasizing how Nigeria's ports can serve as key gateways for trade.

Additionally, he will discuss the media's role in enhancing public accountability within the sector. The event is organized as part of the NUJ Lagos State Council’s 2026 Press Week, which aims to provide a platform for media practitioners to exchange ideas and address issues affecting the profession and society.
