Shehu Appeals to Tinubu for EFCC Probe Report Release

Shehu, who was suspended from her position as the chief of the National Social Investment Programme Agency (NSIPA) in January 2024 due to alleged financial impropriety, has written an open letter to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu requesting the release of the EFCC probe report. She claims that the report's publication would vindicate her and restore her damaged reputation.

Following her suspension, Shehu was questioned by the EFCC, but the outcome of the investigation has not been disclosed. In her letter, she expressed hope for Tinubu's intervention, citing her years of public service and support for his presidential ambition.

She alleged that she was suspended shortly after reporting financial irregularities within NSIPA and claimed that nearly N14 billion was withdrawn from the agency's accounts without her knowledge. She has written multiple letters to various government officials, including the EFCC and the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, requesting the conclusion and public release of the investigation report.
