Babachir Lawal Critiques FG on Cost of Living, Insecurity

Babachir Lawal, the former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, has publicly criticized the Nigerian government, led by President Bola Tinubu, over the unbearable cost of living and escalating insecurity in the country. During an appearance on Channels Television, Lawal, who serves as the Deputy Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), expressed deep concern regarding the hardships faced by Nigerians, including difficulties in paying school fees, medical bills, and basic living expenses.

He described the current situation as a "danger" where citizens are at risk of losing their lives due to insecurity, which he attributed to government negligence. Lawal emphasized the need for a political rescue ahead of the 2027 general elections, asserting that even President Tinubu requires rescuing.

He criticized the All Progressives Congress (APC) governors for misleading the president and suggested that there is a concerted effort to suppress opposition voices. The ADC has emerged as a significant opposition platform, with a national convention scheduled for April 14, highlighting its ambition as a third force in Nigerian politics.
