Tinubu, Adeleke to Discuss Osun LG Funds Dispute

President Bola Tinubu is set to meet with Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke to seek a political resolution to the ongoing dispute over the alleged withholding of N130 billion in local government funds. Sources indicate that the meeting is aimed at addressing the impasse surrounding access to these funds, which have reportedly been mismanaged, leading to court actions that restrict further disbursement.

The meeting comes after reports that UBA Chairman Toni Elumelu was questioned by the presidency regarding the bank's management of the local government funds. Elumelu met with Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, although the agenda of their meeting was not disclosed.

Concerns have been raised about unauthorized disbursements and potential breaches of financial regulations by UBA, which have led to criminal proceedings against bank officials. The situation has been complicated by a magistrate court's ruling that restrains UBA from conducting transactions on behalf of local government councils in Osun State until legal matters are resolved.
