Nigerian Army Enhances Combat Readiness Through Exercise Restore Hope IX

The Nigerian Army recently completed Exercise Restore Hope IX at the Nigerian Army Training Camp in Kachia, Kaduna State, on January 23, 2026. The exercise aimed to transform the army into a more adaptable, disciplined, and combat-ready force capable of prevailing in diverse and complex security theaters.

Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, the Chief of Army Staff, highlighted the exercise's role in reshaping the army's fighting force to address asymmetrical threats and operate effectively in joint multi-agency environments. The training focused on enhancing infantry skills, mental resilience, and ethical leadership to ensure success in modern warfare scenarios.

Graduates were commended for their improved combat skills, teamwork, and adaptability. President Bola Tinubu expressed unwavering support for the army's sustained training efforts.

Major General Valentin Okoro described Exercise Restore Hope IX as a critical component of the army's transformation agenda.
