Nigerian Army Launches PROSE Doctrine for Enhanced Readiness

On Wednesday, the Nigerian Army introduced the PROSE doctrine, a new command philosophy designed to enhance professionalism and operational readiness within the force. Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu unveiled this doctrine during a lecture at the Armed Forces Command and Staff College in Jaji.

According to a statement from the Acting Director of Army Public Relations, Colonel Appolonia Anel, PROSE represents a strategic shift aimed at strengthening modern operations and ensuring excellence. The doctrine is built on five pillars: professionalism, excellence, robust administration, operational readiness, and strategic cooperation, with a focus on exemplary leadership and prioritizing personnel welfare.

Lieutenant General Shaibu stressed the importance of leadership in today’s dynamic security environment and highlighted the need for the Army to maintain public trust and strengthen civil-military relations. The introduction of the PROSE doctrine is intended to accelerate the Army's transformation and ensure it is fully capable of fulfilling its mandate within a joint multi-agency framework.
