Experts Urge Nationwide Scaling of Digital Health Solutions

During a roundtable convened by Vantage Health Technology in Abuja, health experts, including Helen Oji and Paul Bhuhi, called for an urgent shift from isolated digital health pilot projects to nationwide scaling to improve health outcomes across Nigeria. Dr.

Ovuoray John, Director of the Department of Health Planning Research and Statistics at the Federal Ministry of Health, stressed that stakeholders should focus on scaling proven digital health solutions rather than viewing pilot projects as end goals. He emphasized the necessity of government leadership and sustainable financing to embed innovations within the health system.

Dr. Emmanuel Sokpo discussed the importance of quality data and strong partnerships for the success of digital innovations.

Dr. Jerome Mafeni highlighted that the success of digital transformation depends on quality data interoperability.

The roundtable concluded that digital innovations deliver the greatest value when integrated into routine health programs, supported by effective leadership and institutionalization within the national health system.
