FAAN Confirms No Fire Incident at Lagos Airport Terminal

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has reported that preliminary findings show there was no fire at Terminal 2 of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos. Henry Agbebire, the Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, stated that the smoke observed in the area was a result of the discharge from the terminal's FM-200 fire suppression system.

The cause for the activation of this fire suppression system is currently under investigation. FAAN confirmed that normal operations have resumed at the terminal, and detailed investigations are ongoing to ascertain the exact cause of the incident.

Agbebire expressed appreciation for the understanding and cooperation of passengers, airlines, airport users, and stakeholders, reaffirming FAAN's commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all airport operations.
