Air Peace Confirms False Fire Alarm After Lagos Landing

Air Peace announced that a fire alarm triggered on one of its wet-leased aircraft after it landed at Murtala Muhammed Airport in Lagos was false. The incident occurred as the aircraft completed its scheduled service and was parked, with the captain receiving the fire alert in the cockpit while passengers were preparing to disembark.

Following the alert, precautionary safety procedures were activated, leading to the safe evacuation of all passengers without any injuries reported. Air Peace stated that its Maintenance and Engineering team is conducting a thorough assessment to determine the cause of the alert.

The airline commended its flight crew, ground personnel, and airport emergency services for their effective response, as well as the passengers for their cooperation. This incident follows a series of operational and safety-related events involving Air Peace aircraft over the past year, which included various incidents such as runway and bird strikes, yet the airline continues to expand its operations.
