Gbajabiamila Cleared of Involvement in Fraudulent Council

The House of Representatives Ad Hoc Committee has cleared Femi Gbajabiamila, the Chief of Staff to the President, of any involvement in the activities of the purported Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council. The committee, led by chairman Yusuf Gagdi, found no evidence that Gbajabiamila approved or participated in the council's activities.

Instead, the investigation revealed that he promptly alerted security and investigative agencies after concerns were raised by the Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission regarding suspected fraudulent activities. Gbajabiamila contacted the Nigeria Police Force, the Office of the National Security Adviser, the Department of State Services, and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission within a day.

The committee also determined that a letter appointing Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi as Director-General of the organization was forged and falsely attributed to the Presidency. Additionally, documents presented as a Presidential Executive Order and an Act of the National Assembly establishing the organization were rejected as not issued through lawful processes.
