House Clears Gbajabiamila of PFIPC Allegations

The House of Representatives Ad Hoc Committee investigating the alleged inclusion of the purported Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC) in the federal budget found no evidence connecting Femi Gbajabiamila, the Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu, to the establishment or activities of the PFIPC. Chairman Yusuf Gagdi presented the preliminary findings, stating that Gbajabiamila neither approved nor participated in the council's activities.

Instead, he took immediate action by alerting security and investigative agencies after concerns were raised by the Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission regarding potential fraudulent activities. Gbajabiamila communicated with the Nigeria Police Force, the Office of the National Security Adviser, the Department of State Services, and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission within one day.

The committee also identified a forged appointment letter for Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi as the Director-General of the PFIPC, which was falsely attributed to the Presidency. The letter was found to lack authenticity, and Gbajabiamila did not issue or sign it.
