Super Falcons' Okoronkwo Accuses Hotel Staff of Theft

Esther Okoronkwo, a forward for the Super Falcons, accused cleaning staff at a hotel in Morocco of stealing cash from players' rooms while the team was preparing for the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations. In a series of Snapchat posts on Friday, Okoronkwo detailed the alleged thefts, stating that money went missing while players were out of their rooms.

Initially claiming $500 was stolen, she later corrected herself, stating the total was actually $700. Other players were also reportedly affected, including Halimatu Ayinde and Asisat Oshoala, each losing $100, and Joy Omewa, who had £120 taken.

Okoronkwo noted that when the squad confronted hotel staff, they received no clear answers and were met with disrespect. She expressed dissatisfaction with the hotel management's response and warned potential guests about her experience.

The Super Falcons were camped in Casablanca ahead of their scheduled departure for Rabat for their Group C matches in the tournament.
