Super Falcons Players Allegedly Robbed in Morocco Hotel

Esther Okoronkwo, a forward for the Super Falcons, alleged that cash was stolen from several Nigerian players during their stay at a hotel in Casablanca, Morocco, ahead of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON). The incident occurred while the players were away from their rooms for housekeeping duties.

Okoronkwo initially reported $500 missing but later corrected the amount to $700. Other players also reported losses, including Halimatu Ayinde and Asisat Oshoala, each missing $100, and Joy Omewa losing £120.

After discovering the theft, the affected players confronted hotel staff but received unsatisfactory responses and reported disrespectful behavior from the staff. Okoronkwo expressed disappointment and warned future guests about the hotel, stating that belongings were not safe.

The Super Falcons are preparing for the tournament, aiming to reclaim the continental title and qualify for the FIFA Women’s World Cup. As of the time of the allegations, there was no official response from the hotel management.
