Families Demand Justice for Missing NELAN Engineers

Families of five engineers employed by NELAN Construction Limited, who went missing in November 2021 while working on the African Development Bank-funded ring road project in Ebonyi State, are calling for intervention from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The families have expressed distress over the prolonged uncertainty surrounding the case and criticized the Nigeria Police Force and the Department of State Services (DSS) for failing to provide clear updates on the investigation.

The missing engineers—Nelson Onyemeh, Ernest Edeani, Ikechukwu Ejiofor, Samuel Anek, and Stanlei Nwazulum—are described as professionals whose disappearance has caused economic hardship for their families. Allegations have emerged regarding interference in the investigation, including the sudden dismissal of a DSS operative involved in the case.

The families demand a transparent reopening of the investigation and accountability for the fate of the missing engineers, emphasizing the government's constitutional responsibility to protect its citizens.
