Fashola to Attend 2026 ITTF Africa Youth Cup Final

Babatunde Fashola, the former Minister of Works and Housing and ex-Governor of Lagos State, will serve as the distinguished guest at the grand finale of the 2026 ITTF Africa Youth Cup, taking place at the Borteyman Sports Complex in Accra, Ghana, on Wednesday. The tournament is named the Babatunde Raji Fashola (BRF) Cup in honor of his significant contributions to the revival of table tennis in Africa, particularly through the establishment of the Lagos Table Tennis Classics in 2013.

Fashola will be accompanied by dignitaries, including the Executive Committee of the African Table Tennis Federation, led by President Wahid Oshodi. The competition aims to showcase emerging talents and encourage healthy competition among Africa’s youth, with aspirations to elevate the event to a global level.

Notable participants include Wassim Essid of Tunisia, the previous U-19 boys’ singles champion, and top seeds such as Egypt’s Yara Elbadawy and Uganda’s Joseph Sebatindira.
