Egypt Claims Three Titles at ITTF Africa Youth Championships

At the 2026 ITTF Africa Youth Championships held in Accra, Egypt showcased its dominance in table tennis by winning three out of four available team titles. The Egyptian team triumphed over Nigeria, Tunisia, and Algeria to secure the U-15 boys' title and the girls' U-19 championship, while also reclaiming the girls' U-15 trophy.

Nigeria, the defending champions, had a challenging tournament, narrowly defeating hosts Ghana 3–2 in the semifinals. However, they were decisively beaten by Egypt in the final, with a flawless 3–0 scoreline.

Asser Sameh led the Egyptian team, with Ahmed Elsabbagh winning his match against Marvelous Joseph 3–0, Sameh defeating Usman Ayoola 3–0, and Hussein Eyad sealing the championship with a 3–0 victory over Samson Joshua. In the girls' U-15 division, Egypt overcame Tunisia 3–1 to reclaim their title, and they also retained their girls' U-19 crown by defeating Algeria 3–0.
