Father and Son Graduate Together at DELSU Convocation

At the 18th convocation ceremony of Delta State University held last Saturday, Sheriff Mulad, a Niger Delta activist and founder of the Centre for Peace and Environmental Justice, was awarded a Doctor of Philosophy in International Relations. His son, 24-year-old David Sheriff Mulad, graduated with a Master of Science degree in Mass Communication.

David, who practices journalism with Gbaramatu Voice, expressed gratitude towards his father for his support, emphasizing the importance of education in shaping their futures. Anthony Okrika, an Ijaw chieftain, acknowledged this achievement as a significant moment for the Gbaramatu Kingdom, reflecting dedication and excellence in education.

Okrika commended Sheriff Mulad's contributions to environmental justice and peace advocacy in the Niger Delta, underscoring the family's commitment to intellectual growth and public service.
