FBI Offers Reward for Wanted Nigerian Man Olumide Adediran

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has released details about Olumide Adebiyi Adediran, a Nigerian man born on 11 October 1968, who is currently 57 years old and is on their wanted list. The FBI is offering a reward of up to $10,000 (N13,716,300) for information that leads to his arrest and conviction.

Adediran allegedly committed bank fraud starting in August 2001 when he attempted to withdraw funds from a bank in Champaign, Illinois. He is accused of obtaining personal information from citizens without authorization to open bank and credit card accounts in their names.

A trial was scheduled in the Central District of Illinois, but Adediran fled the district in December 2001, just before proceedings began. A federal arrest warrant was issued on 2 January 2002 by the United States District Court for the Central District of Illinois in Urbana, Illinois, for violating his conditions of release.

The FBI continues to list him as a wanted fugitive and notes he has ties to South Florida.
