FCT Fire Service Upgrades Emergency Router System

The FCT Fire Service, led by Director Zaccheau Adebayo, is undertaking a review of its emergency router system for an upgrade, which will be implemented in collaboration with Prime Alert Security Ltd in 2024. Adebayo disclosed this information during a briefing with journalists in Abuja on Tuesday.

The upgraded system is designed to enable real-time fire detection and instant transmission of emergency alerts to the control room, significantly reducing response times. Adebayo emphasized the need for the existing devices, which have been in use for years, to be upgraded to meet current technological advancements and improve service delivery.

He urged the public to remain patient during the review process and reassured that the FCT Fire Service's emergency response operations would remain fully functional. Adebayo also called for increased government investment to modernize firefighting equipment and expand fire prevention programs, highlighting the necessity of recruiting additional personnel to meet the growing demands of the Federal Capital Territory.
