FCT Minister Engages Stakeholders for Hajj Reforms

On Wednesday, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud, the Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), convened a stakeholder summit in Abuja to discuss comprehensive reforms for Nigeria's Hajj administration under the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).

The summit's theme focused on repositioning Nigeria's Hajj industry to set a benchmark for service excellence. Mahmoud emphasized the importance of meticulous planning and seamless coordination to ensure that every pilgrim experiences dignity, safety, and comfort.

She commended NAHCON for its critical assessment of the 2026 Hajj operations and stressed the need for honest evaluations of achievements and challenges to strengthen public confidence. Mahmoud reaffirmed the commitment of the FCT administration to improve public service delivery and called for collaboration among government regulatory agencies and religious leaders to build an efficient Hajj management system.

She also acknowledged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's commitment to institutional reforms, which aim to enhance transparency and accountability in the Hajj administration.
