FCT NSCDC to Sanction Private Security Firms with Expired Licenses

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) announced plans to sanction private security firms found operating with expired licenses or fake documents. Commandant Olusola Odumosu disclosed in an interview that there will be no excuse for non-compliance with the law governing private security operations.

He emphasized that any company operating without a valid license will face appropriate sanctions, which may include sealing their offices. The command is currently compiling a list of companies violating these regulations and will enforce actions against them.

Odumosu noted that the NSCDC maintains a robust working relationship with private guard companies, emphasizing the importance of collaboration in ensuring public safety. He mentioned that private security guards often have closer ties to the community, which aids in gathering credible intelligence regarding potential criminal activities.
