FCTA Cracks Down on Illegal Transport Operations in Abuja

The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has intensified its crackdown on illegal transport operations, specifically targeting unauthorized motor parks, commonly known as Jabi upstairs. Mr.

Chinedum Elechi, representing the FCTA Transport Secretariat, announced that enforcement operations commenced on July 1, with the goal of eliminating criminal activities associated with illegal motor parks and unauthorized transport locations across the Federal Capital Territory. Vehicles were impounded on the first day of operations, with owners required to complete necessary documentation to reclaim their vehicles, ensuring they do not return to illegal loading points.

Dr. Peter Olumuji from the FCT Security Services Department emphasized the importance of these operations in maintaining law and order in the nation's capital.

The enforcement efforts are designed to contribute to an orderly public transport system within the Federal Capital Territory, with Mr. Hamzat Gumil commending the coordination of the transport system and describing the experience at the Mabushi taxi terminal as satisfactory.
