NSCDC FCT Command Trains 106 Officers in Firearms Safety

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) FCT Command concluded a two-week intensive training course on firearms handling for 106 personnel. The training aimed to enhance officers' skills in managing firearms and to reinforce adherence to operational efficiency in protecting critical national assets and infrastructure.

The training took place at the command headquarters in Wuse Zone 5, Abuja. Dr.

Olusola Odumosu, the command head, emphasized the corps' zero-tolerance policy towards negligent firearm handling and warned personnel against accidental discharges. He stated that the NSCDC does not condone accidental discharges and highlighted the importance of professionalism in interactions with the public.

Odumosu expressed appreciation for the NSCDC's approval of the training program and noted that continuous capacity building is central to the corps' mandate of safeguarding national assets and ensuring public safety. The event culminated in the presentation of certificates to the graduating officers during a muster parade.
