NAICOM Urges FCT Police to Promote Insurance Compliance

The National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) has called on the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command to champion insurance compliance, emphasizing its importance as a protective measure for lives, properties, and investments. This charge was made during a training program organized for the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) aimed at strengthening compliance with motor third-party insurance and verifying insurance policies.

The training, held in Abuja, focused on building a culture of insurance compliance among police officers, equipping them with the necessary knowledge and skills to promote adherence to compulsory insurance laws and verify the authenticity of insurance policies. NAICOM's Chief Executive Officer, Olusegun Ayo Omosehin, and Deputy Commissioner of Insurance, Ekeret Ola Gam Ikon, underscored the strategic importance of collaboration between NAICOM and the Nigeria Police Force to enhance public safety.

They noted that the impact of public safety extends beyond crime prevention, including financial protection against unforeseen events, and highlighted the need to reduce the number of uninsured vehicles on Nigerian roads.
