FCT Police Enforce Strict Traffic Laws for Safety

On Sunday, CP Ahmed Sanusi, the Commissioner of Police for the FCT Command, issued a directive to all Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) and MOTOPOL personnel to enforce traffic laws rigorously. This initiative aims to promote road safety, ensure smooth traffic flow, and prevent loss of lives and property due to traffic violations and reckless driving in the FCT.

According to a press statement from the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Josephine Adeh, officers are specifically instructed to target motorists driving against traffic, known as “one-way,” and other dangerous driving behaviors. The CP also emphasized the need for increased patrols and surveillance in traffic-heavy areas to identify and apprehend traffic robbers.

Officers are reminded to conduct their duties with professionalism and civility, adhering strictly to the rule of law. Any officer found abusing the rights of the public will face disciplinary action.

The Command urges road users to obey traffic regulations and report suspicious activities.
