FCTA Denies Claims of Court Order Halting Environmental Levies

The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has dismissed claims regarding a court order that purportedly halted environmental levies. In a statement issued on Thursday, the FCTA's public health department, led by Idris Suleiman, described the circulated court order as entirely false and a complete misinterpretation.

The order in question was granted by Justice Yusuf Halilu of the FCT High Court in motion no M/7935/2026, in response to a suit filed by Medix Pharmacy Limited against the FCTA and the Health Human Services Secretariat, along with six other parties. The court's order did not suspend or halt the overall enforcement activities of the public health department.

The department urged residents and business owners to disregard any claims suggesting a blanket suspension of environmental health enforcement and food safety measures, reaffirming their commitment to ensuring public safety and compliance with health standards.
