FCTA Distributes 6,800 Fertiliser Bags to Farmers

The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) distributed 6,800 bags of fertiliser to farmers during a handover ceremony in Tungan Maje. Comrade Abdullahi Suleiman Ango, the Mandate Secretary, represented by Mallam Kongoli Muhammad Mustapha, expressed gratitude to the Federal Government and the National Agricultural Development Fund for their support.

Ango highlighted this initiative as part of the Renewed Hope Agenda aimed at strengthening food security and alleviating the burden of high input costs. He commended FCT Minister Barrister Nyesom Ezenwo Wike for his people-oriented programmes, particularly ongoing rural road construction that improves farmers' market access and reduces post-harvest losses.

Ango urged the Agricultural Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN) leadership to ensure fair and transparent distribution of the fertilisers, adhering to a verified farmer list. Dr. Perpetual Nkechi Okafo, Chairman of AFAN, pledged commitment to a transparent process ensuring that only verified farmers receive the fertilisers.

The event was supervised by AFAN national executives and senior officials of the National Agricultural Development Fund.
